Full-Time Employee Benefits

We provide a full range of benefits for you and your eligible family members (including domestic partners) that start on day one. While the benefits may vary slightly from location to location, these are the basic benefits for regular, full-time U.S. employees:

Health Care

  • A choice of four medical plans, including prescription drug coverage, designed to meet your individual needs, with domestic partner coverage

Employee Assistance Program

Our Employee Assistance Program is a counseling and referral service available to employees and their immediate families by telephone 24/7, whose resources and referral services include:

Time Off

We recognize that Amazonians have a life outside of work and need a break every once in a while. Amazon believes that associates should earn and take vacation on a regular basis for their personal well-being and continued high performance. All non-seasonal associates working 20 or more hours per week accrue vacation during each pay period. Amazon also provides all non-seasonal associates who are expected to work more than 20 hours per week with paid personal time.

Employee Stock

At Amazon, employees have the opportunity to become owners of the Company. We want employees to think like owners, and awarding equity provides an ownership opportunity to our employees. Eligible Amazon and subsidiary employees receive Amazon Restricted Stock Units.

The Amazon Career Choice Program

Tailored specifically to our hourly associates, the Amazon Career Choice Program will pre-pay or reimburse 95% of tuition and fees for you to earn certificates and associate degrees in high-wage, in-demand occupations such as aircraft mechanics, computer-aided design, machine tool technologies, medical lab technologies, nursing, and many other fields.

In addition, Amazon will also reimburse 95% of the cost of all required textbooks. The program will pay up to $3,000 per year in tuition, textbooks and associated fees for up to four years, for our regular full-time hourly associates.

Relocation Assistance

Amazon may provide relocation assistance for certain positions. (Ask your recruiter whether the position you’re interested in is eligible for relocation assistance.) Learn about our various locations here.[TM1] 

We have partnered with a world-class relocation service provider to make sure your relocation is as stress-free as possible. Our service provider will assist you with real estate and destination services to find the right new place for you.

Depending on the type and level of position you're offered, Amazon may also provide you with the following benefits:

  • Packing, unpacking, and moving of your personal goods and car
  • Fully furnished temporary housing, which will include maid service, utilities, and parking
  • Storage for your personal items
  • Rental or real estate tours to assist you with finding a new residence
  • A rental car until your personal car arrives
  • Relocation allowance to assist you with incidental expenses
  • Payment of part of the tax liability incurred with most of your taxable relocation expenses

We exclusively fund education only in areas that are well-paying and in high demand according to sources like the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and we fund those areas regardless of whether those skills are relevant to a career at Amazon.
